Spanish La Liga team FC Barcelona (pronounced bar-se-LOE-na or bar-theh-LON-a) are generally viewed, among fans, as one of the best teams in the PES Series. They have been fortunate since they have had their own stadium, Camp Nou, licensed for the last few PES installments.

[edit] PES 2008
One of the main factors contributing to Barcelona's supreme stength is the strikers they possess on the game. With players such as Thierry Henry, Samuel Eto'o and Lionel Messi leading the frontline, it wouldn't be ridiculous to say that Barcelona have the greatest strikeforce on PES 2008. Their back ups are no consolation either, with players like Bojan Krkic and Eidur Gudjohnsen firmly placed in their ranks.
[edit] PES 2009
They still boast a very strong line up with high strength up front. New signings include Seydou Keita, Gerard Pique, Martin Caceres, Dani Alves and Alyaksandr Hleb given them more defensive options which they were lacking seasons before. However they did sell Ronaldinho, Gianluca Zambrotta, Deco, Edmilson, good experienced players who were perhaps past their best.
[edit] PES 2010
Having won the treble in Spain for the first time ever in the history of Spain, it's looks like Barcelona will continue to be a force to reckoned with. Having sold Samuel Eto'o to Inter and replaced him with Zlatan Ibrahimovic Barcelona's attack still looks to be the best in the game. Ibrahimović and Henry both provide options for being a target man and Messi provides speed and the ability to carve open defences.
They also signed Maxwell, Dmytro Chygrynskiy, and Keirrison (loaned to Benfica) strengthening the defence once again however also looking to the future for strikers.
[edit] PES 2011
PES 2011 introduced Ibrahim Afellay to the Barcelona squad, to improve their strength in depth. Due to Barcelona normally featuring a 3-man midfield, Afellay would be best used as a winger. They also signed David Villa and Javier Mascherano, a world class striker, and defensive midfielder respectively, to bolster their armoury in attacking play and in defensive play also.
[edit] PES 2012
With the addition of Cesc Fabregas and Alexis Sanchez to their ranks, the team has an even stronger depth than before. With the formidable midfield of Xavi, Iniesta and now Fabregas they have one of the strongest midfield's to ever grace the game. As Messi is still playing at his highest ability, Barcelona easily have one of the best squads in the game and are a strong team to choose online.
[edit] PES 2013
They are featured on PES 2013 demo as arguably the best club in the demo. They feature every stat being on A, with only Physique on B. Furthermore, a lot of their younger players now have preset faces.
[edit] Online
Barcelona have come under much scrutiny within the Online Mode, as many gamers deem the team 'too strong an opposition' and believe that anyone who chooses to use the team have an unfair advantage.
