Chelsea was one of 2 licensed EPL teams in PES5, but their license was axed in favour of Manchester United in PES6. After the club's recent success in real life over the last couple of years, the team has recieved a large improvement in stat quality of their players and team in general. Due to this stat increase and transfers of already good players, Chelsea is seen as one of the Premier club teams in PES.

Team and Tactics

Chelsea have an unparalleled defence of John Terry and Ricardo Carvalho as CBs and the excellent Petr Cech in goal, whilst the flying wing backs include Ashley Cole and Jose Bosingwa. Many are of the opinion that this partnership is the best in the game by default. A lot of gamers choose to play Chelsea as a 4-3-3 formation mainly to accomodate at least 3 of the clubs 4 superb CMFs, Frank Lampard, Michael Essien, Deco, and Michael Ballack. Up front, the likes of Florent Malouda, Nicolas Anelka, Didier Drogba and Joe Cole can cause some selection headaches. Chelsea also have a selection of promising youngsters including Michael Mancienne (on loan to Wolves), Miroslav Stoch (on loan to Twente), Michael Woods, Scott Sinclair (on loan to Wigan), Franco di Santo (on loan to Blackburn) as well as the newly purchased Daniel Sturridge.
