C.A. River Plate are an Argentine club who made their first licensed appearance in PES 2008. They were known as Pampas in earlier games. They are a fairly average side with the majority of their players hailing from Argentina. In PES 2008 they were a club that started off in the second division along with your team in Master League but are not a huge threat to your promotion campaign. Their top players in their squad include David Trezeguet and Leonardo Ponzio. River Plate share a fierce rivalry with Boca Juniors who also appear with them. In PES 2011 they appeared in the Other Latin American Teams section, but were unplayable in the Copa Libertadores. They appear in PES 2012 after being relegated, being the third team to appear in the PES series despite not being in the top division, after West Ham in PES 3 and Juventus in PES 6. They are currently managed by Ramón Díaz, who often features within Classic Argentina squad.
