The Croatians (pronounced cro-AY-shuns) are classed as being in between a World Class team and a good/average team due to their lack of world class superstars but having generally good all round players who play well as a team. They have been licensed since PES08 with a home kit of red and white checks, white shorts and white socks and an away strip of all blue with red and white trim. Their unlicensed kit in the earlier games used to be difficult to edit due to lack of checked design in edit mode. This was updated in later versions of the game.
Tactics & Players
The most effective formation for Croatia is usually 4-4-2 with a strong backbone of Robert Kovac in defence, Luka Modric in midfield and Mladen Petric up front. Usual striker Eduardo Da Silva is severly underrated in the game and therefore sturggles for a starting place which is usually filled by either Ivan Klasnic or Bosko Balaban. The midfield does however lack width with no real out and out side midfielder, therefore the formation is usually very narrow in the centre which leaves them exposed on the flanks.
A lot of people attempt to avoid this problem by playing with 2 DMFs and 2 AMFs, AMF being the only position of the talented Niko Kranjcar and believed to be the most effective position of Luka Modric. Darijo Srna provides some talent in delivering set pieces as well.
