Fábio Aurélio is a Brazilian footballer who plays for Liverpool in the left back position. He was at one point considered a flop but has now redeemed himself and is a member of the first team.

PES 2009

In the default version of this game Aurelio is seen as the back up to Andrea Dossena for the left back position despite having better stats than the Italian. Many gamers do prefer to use Aurelio because although he is slower he is better defensively and has the ability to hit an accurate long ball on a counter attack.

PES 2010

Due to an injury, Aurelio again is not in Liverpool's starting eleven, this time he has been displaced by up and coming talent Emiliano Insua.

Playing Style

Aurelio has a very strong left foot which is used to great effect in crosses and is deadly for set pieces. Aurelio can be seen as a utility player because as well as being able to play at both left back and left midfield he can also play as centre midfielder as he has great tackling ability as well as the fact he is capable of getting himself into good goalscoring opportunities from long range.

• But he is the brother-in-law of Edu Schmidt.
• Aurelio has never featured for the Brazil national team and is eligible to play for Italy if he is called up.
