Gianluca Pagliuca is a former footballer who has played in goal for teams such as Inter, Sampdoria and Bologna. He was the undisputed number 1 for Italy in the mid nineties, reigning from the end of the Walter Zenga era to the beginning of the Gianluigi Buffon one. He replaces Dino Zoff as the main goalkeeper in the Classic Italy squad in PES 2009; previously he was the second choice keeper. He bears the name Palunca as a classic player in PES because of licensing issues. While his stats are lower than the legendary Zoff's, he is still a more than competent goalkeeper with experience meaning that he'll be difficult to beat in one-on-one situations. Strangely his response as a classic player (94) is lower than his response in early PES games (95 in PES 4) when he was at the end of his career and considerably older than the age he is portrayed as a classic player.
