Glenn Whelan (pronounced WEE-l'n) is an Irish international footballer who plays for Stoke City. He, like most Stoke players, has average stats in PES and faces competition from Irish team mates in the form of Rory Delap and Liam Lawrence in midfield. Despite not being a regular until recently for Stoke he has broken into the Ireland squad in real life partnering Keith Andrews in the centre of midfield and stands a decent chance of making it into the next Ireland squad in PES granting him a preset face. He played for Man City earlier in his career although PES 2009 was his debut PES game.

In Master League after a few seasons he develops very good stats and is a recommended purchase.
