Iran are one of the better Asian national sides and do possess some quality players. In real life they had a player called Ali Daei who is famous for being the only player to score a 100 international goals or more, he is now the manager. In PES 2009 their most notable players are the captain Mehdi Mahdavikia, their full back Hossein Kaebi, Cyprus-based Ferydoon Zandi, Fulham's Andranik Teymourian, 2 Osasuna players Javad Nekounam and Masoud Shojaei and also two quality forwards in Vahid Hashemian and Mehrzad Madanchi. Unfortunately Ali Karimi will be absent from the team from PES 2009 onwards as he has retired from international football much to many people's disappointment.
