J. League Division 2 is the second football league in Japan, and it is comprised of 22 teams. It is featured only in the Winning Eleven series, the Japanese version of PES. Teams that finish in the top positions when the season ends are promoted to J. League Division 1, which is also featured in the Japanese version. Both this league and J. League Division 1 build the very first fully licensed promotion-relegation system in the whole WE/PES series so far. The current holders of the J. League Division 2 title are Ventforet Kofu.
