Lassana Diarra is a French midfielder of Malian descent due to join Real Madrid (replacing the injured Ruben de la Red and Mahamadou Diarra) after transferring from Portsmouth.

PES 2008

During the season that Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 was out Lassana was registered as a Chelsea player when in fact he had joined Arsenal on the transfer window deadline, but now he has switched clubs again and is now at Portsmouth

PES 2009

In PES 2009, after the update, he moves to Real Madrid. In Master League Mode if you can get Lassana to switch clubs again he will be a very valuable midfielder as he has got a great development curve.

PES 2010

He features the card, Anchor Man which means when attacking or defending, he will sit deep and hold the back line.

Trivia

He is not related to Alou Diarra or Mahamadou Diarra (who he joins at Real). Lassana has the name "Lass" on the back of his Madrid shirt to avoid any comparisons with Mahamadou Diarra.
