Mark van Bommel is a retired Dutch midfielder who last played for PSV Eindhoven.


He was given the Bayern Munich captaincy from Oliver Kahn when he retired in 2008 so he has been the first non-German captain of Bayern from 2008 to 2011. He was also given the captaincy of the Netherlands national team after the retirement of Giovanni van Bronckhorst at the end of the 2010 World Cup.

Van Bommel plays for PSV and the Netherlands national team. He is a very strong defensive midfielder with a rating of 88 in Body Balance and 90 in Shot Power.

Van Bommel moved to Barcelona and gained a little stat boost after a great season with PSV. Most notably his Shot Power was raised to 93, Long Pass Speed to 88 and Technique to 86. However his Shot Accuracy was lowered from 79 to 77.

After one season at Barcelona, van Bommel moved to Bayern Munich.
He lost 1 point in Shot Power (from 93 to 92) and his Body Balance was lowered from 88 to 86.

In this installment of the game van Bommel only plays for Bayern and not for the Netherlands national team because of his conflict with then coach Marco van Basten.

He was present in the game under the name Von Bokkur in the PES Shop because he wasn' t in the Netherlands national team and Bayern Munich wasn' t present in the game.

In PES 2010 he can be found again in the Netherlands national team. He is a very good central midfielder with nice passing stats and high attacking and defensive ratings.
His Shot Power was lowered from 92 to 86 after the February Update.
He has the skill cards Reaction, Passer, PK Taker, 1-touch play, Outside Curve and Slide Tackle .

In this edition Van Bommel is portrayed as a more defensive player: he lost some points all around his attacking stats as well as the skill cards Reaction, Passer and Outside Curve. However he gained 1 point in Defence and the playstyle card Enforcer, a typical card for defensive midfielders meaning he is a touch combative player whose sole purpose is to keep the opposition attack in check.
He has the same overall rating (80) in both CMF and DMF positions.
He moved to Italian giants AC Milan during the winter market.

After a good season at AC Milan, Van Bommel got a little stat boost in Defence, Response and Stamina. His overall is now 84 as CMF and 83 as DMF.

Van Bommel had anothter little stat boost making his overall 85 in both DMF and CMF positions. Most notably he gained a rating of 80 in Defense. He has a generic double named Vanborg in the Dutch national team that is unlicensed in PES 2013. In real life he moved from Milan to PSV during the summer and was named captain of PSV, the team for which he played from 1999 to 2005.
