As he has extremely high dribbling ability and technique as well as very few weaknesses. His main strengths are his passing ability, attacking and terrific dribbling. Furthermore he's always been known for his tricks and skills such as the Elastico which he can use to real effect in PES and in real life.

[edit] Early PES

Naldorinho is his unlicensed name in older versions of PES. Even at a younger age he was still considered a very good player with high potential. He made his PES debut with French giants Paris Saint-Germain.

[edit] PES 4

Ronaldinho appeared for the Barcelona team in PES 4 and featured in an attacking trio which featured of Samuel Eto'o and Ludovic Giuly. Ronaldinho went on to be considered one of Barcelona's best attackers of the decade.

He had a Dribble Accuracy and Technique of 97, possibly the highest in the game, showing his shear dominance with the ball at his feet. At the age of 24, he shows very high potential - he already is considered one of the best players in the game. For an attacking midfielder, his attributes work well for the 'playmaker' role. He has fast, accurate dribbling, precise passing and has the capabilities of scoring for himself. He's an all-rounder, having above 80 in almost every stat, bar his aerial skills.

He would be a recommended signing for any team in Master League.

[edit] PES 5

In PES 5 he roughly has the same stats as the year before, however he sees a small decrease in his Top Speed, Response, Curling and Long Pass Accuracy. He sees a sizeable decrease in Shot Accuracy and Free Kick Accuracy.

He does however improve on Agility and Heading. Despite all this, he is still easily one of the best players in the game and arguably the best playmaker.

He has the special abilities of Dribbling, Passing, Side, 1-Touch Pass and Outside, which improves his ability with the ball.

[edit] PES 6

In PES 6 he was then part of another trio but instead of Giuly, Lionel Messi was the third member added to the fold as an up-coming teenager. This gave Barcelona a highly skilful, world beater front line making them a heavily popular choice for Master League.

Ronaldinho also hit the peak of his stats in PES 6 showing 94 in Attack, 86 in Body Balance, 92 in Acceleration and 90 and 91 in Short Pass and Long Pass Accuracy. He also had some stats in the Divine Zone: 97, 96, 95 and 98 in Agility, Dribble Accuracy, Dribble Speed and Technique respectively. Many consider him to have been the best player in the game.

[edit] PES 2008

Ronaldinho in PS3 version of PES 2008.

With the arrival of Thierry Henry to the strike force in PES 2008, Ronaldinho saw himself play as an attacking midfielder and was part of a very strong attacking diamond. As the pinnacle play-maker for the team, it is essential that Ronaldinho sees as much of the ball as possible, creating many chances for your team. His stats had slightly downgraded from previous years as his Dribble Accuracy is now only 94 with complementary skill Dribble Speed decreasing to 80. He does still however has very high passing attributes, and essential component to his role in the team.

As he became 29 years old, this, however, then led to PES 2008 being the last game Ronaldinho would feature for Barcelona, before moving onto AC Milan.

[edit] PES 2009

In PES 2009 Ronaldinho features for AC Milan after his transfer, along with other new signings such as; Mathieu Flamini, Gianluca Zambrotta, Andriy Shevchenko and Philippe Senderos. Ronaldinho appears as the main attacking force for Milan but many people think he is overrated in PES 2009.

[edit] PES 2010

He appears in Brazil squad in PES 2010 despite not being called up for recent matches.

With his growing age, he has turned into what seems like a very good player but not a world best. His overall rating is now 82 making a good signing but due to his age there will now probably be better players out there. However he still has 97 technique making him very good at controlling the ball. Even in lacking of pace, his dribble accuracy makes up for it; as he's still able to beat players repeatedly. His brilliant passing stats make him one of the perfect playmakers as he's able to make assists with ease and therefore he has it in his ability to win matches on his own.

He is also probably the only player in the game to have a full set of cards. He features 11 in total. He has Classic No.10 and Trickster making him an old-style static play-maker who makes use of deft touches and passes than pace or movement which suits Ronaldinho's style of play and also making him a skilled dribbler who uses the step-over to great effect in wizarding past the opposition. Some minor cards he has are, Passer, PK Taker, 1-touch play, Outside Curve, Marseille Roulette, Elastico, Cross Over Turn, Quick Scissor Dribble and Scooping making him pretty much perform every single trick in the game while also making him play killer through balls and one-twos.

[edit] PES 2011

In PES 2011 he saw little reduction in stats, Stamina was reduced to 76 and Attack fell to 88. However he gained a little boost from PES 2010 getting a 96 rating in those that have been his peak stats through the series: Dribble Accuracy, Short Pass Accuracy and Technique; so Konami brought his peak stats back to the Divine Zone even lowering some other stats. This happened probably because he showed at Milan that he was still technically world class even if not physically at his best any more. His Long Pass Accuracy also improved by 3 points to 95. He is still one of the best players in the game, his technical ability is second-to-none, arguably the best in PES, while his Overall Rating is 95.

He has the skill cards Passer, 1-touch play, Shoulder Feint Skills, Roulette Skills, Scissors Skills, Flicking Skills, Step On Skills and Side Stepping Skills, thus making him a natural trickster, and also making him more difficult to tackle. When used effectively, his enhanced ability could lead to your team scoring.

He also has the playstyle card Trickster which complements his skill cards.

He went to Flamengo during the winter market. This led to him becoming a PES-Shop player, losing his preset face and also his real name.

[edit] PES 2013

He appears on the Brazilian club Flamengo in the Copa Libertadores in the PES 2013 demo. He will appear in PES 2013 playing for Atletico Mineiro since the Brazilian League is added. Still with amazing stats, probably the best in the whole Brazilian league.

[edit] Playing Style

Ronaldinho's registered position is second striker, he can also play in attacking midfield to similar effect. He has a distinct dribbling style that allows him to beat his marker time and time again. He works most effectively when given a free role to roam around the pitch, to create opportunities for the strikers on the team with pinpoint through-balls. He has a unique free-kick and penalty taking style. His free-kick style generates lots of dip and swerve and is regarded as one of the most accurate of the styles available.

From the table you can see that Ronaldinho has always been consistent with his stats – always having exceptional Technique and Dribble Accuracy, therefore it is hard to pick out the best game that he features in. He has always been amongst one of the best players in the game. From between PES 4-2008, his stats focus more as a traditional attacking winger – being able to weave in and out of tackles and defenders with ease. Ever since his move to Milan in PES 2009, he is deployed as a much deeper player, focussing more on the passing side of his ability, rather than dribbling.

One thing he has lacked is Condition, therefore there is a possibility that he could regularly be seen with either a light blue or purple form arrow. This can then have an adverse effect on his stats, which could weaken your team drastically.

Overall it is better to use him as a playmaker in more modern games of PES.
