Overview

Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 (or just PES 2008) is an association football video game in the Pro Evolution Soccer series by Konami. The game was officially announced on 18 June 2007. It is the sequel to PES 6.

Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 was released for Windows, Wii, Nintendo DS, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2, PlayStation Portable, Xbox 360 and Mobile. Its Japanese equivalent, Winning Eleven, was released earlier in the year and gave an insight into the game.

The game supports online capability for you to challenge your friends, or gamers from around the globe.

Criticism

The online mode has been criticised by many for being too slow and being nothing in comparison to that of its rival FIFA. Again aspects of the game such as commentary and licensing were highlighted as areas requiring serious improvement.

Also, the general gameplay was really criticised in the next-gen version due to the huge amount of bugs, and the lack of significant improvements. For most players, this particular edition marked the loss of the title for best football simulator to its rival FIFA, as it was considered a huge disappointment in many aspects. FIFA took a huge step foward, and many considered that PES got behind.
