[edit] Criticism
The online mode has been criticised by many for being too slow and being nothing in comparison to that of its rival FIFA. Again aspects of the game such as commentary and licensing were highlighted as areas requiring serious improvement.
Also, the general gameplay was really criticised in the next-gen version due to the huge amount of bugs, and the lack of significant improvements. For most players, this particular edition marked the loss of the title for best football simulator to its rival FIFA, as it was considered a huge disappointment in many aspects. FIFA took a huge step forward, and many considered that PES got behind.
