Playing Styles and COM Playing Styles were first introduced in PES 2014 and replaced the Playstyle Cards from previous games.

[edit] Playing Styles

Playing Styles can alter the behaviour of a player. They are only active in their compatible positions and one can be allocated per player.

These can be altered during training in Master League in order to change the growth of particular player stats. For example, Prolific Winger will increase the focus in Dribbling, Speed and Explosive Power but has little effect on Ball Winning and Header.

COM Playing Styles will atler how likely AI controlled players will perform actions. Up to 5 of the below styles can be assigned to a player.

COM Playing Styles Description
Trickster The step-over expert who makes the most of exquisite skills to dribble past the opposition.
Mazing Run A player who looks to penetrate deep into opposition territory by using deft turns and dribbles.
Speeding Bullet A pacey player who likes to get forward.
Incisive Run A dribbler whose expertise is to cut in from the wide areas looking for goal scoring opportunities.
Long Ball Expert A player who frequently plays the long ball.
Early Cross A player with great vision who won't miss the chance to hit an early cross.
Long Ranger A player who frequently takes snapshots at goal from range.

These are the Playing Styles featured in PES 2019. The game introduced several new styles, these are; Roaming Flank, Cross Specialist, Orchestrator, and Full-back Finisher, as well as refining several positions for previous styles.
