Playstyle Cards in PES 2010 are a representation of a players individual playstyles. At any time, you can deactivate any cards, for example if you don't want a player to perform certain styles like if it doesn't fit into your playing strategy, then you can go to Game Plan, then Set Formation and then Player Index, you then need to click the player you want the card to be deactivated.
They come in two forms, attack based and defence based. There are 17 attack based cards and 4 defence based cards.
Most of these cards would only benefit when the CPU has playing as your team since you control how they should play.
When added to a player, these cards do not increase your overall ability, unlike the skill cards.
It is also impossible to gain any of these cards while in Master League or Become A Legend.

| P08 | Pinpoint Pass | A long ball expert who can play quality passes from deep |
| P09 | Early Cross | A player with great vision who won't miss the chance to hit an early cross |
| P10 | Box to Box | The indefatigable all-action player covering every blade of grass for the full 90 |
| P11 | Cut Back Pass | A player who likes to shoot across goal to bring others into play |
| P12 | Incisive Run | A dribbler whose expertise is to cut in from the wide areas looking for goal scoring opportunities |
| P13 | Long Ranger | A player who needs no invitation to shoot and will always try to create space for a shot |
| P15 | Goal Poacher | A predatory striker who plays off the shoulders of the last defender |
| P16 | Dummy Runner | A player who attracts the defence to create space for other players to exploit |
| P17 | Free Roaming | A player with a keen eye for goal who surges forward at any given opportunity |
| P18 | Extra Attacker | An offensive-minded centre half who orchestrates the attack from the back |
| P20 | Talisman | The talisman who can drive the entire team forward |
| P21 | Fox in the Box | A striker who lurks in the opposition 18 yard box just waiting for the ball |
