Reading F.C. (pronounced RED-ing) or Berkshire Blues made their first appearance on the game in Pro Evolution Soccer 6. After retaining their Premier League status for a second season, Reading once again featured in Pro Evolution Soccer 2008, with the same fake name.
Reading did not feature in the next installment (PES 2009) of the series after their relegation from the Premier League in the 2007/08 season.
They will make a return to PES 2013 after being crowned champions of the Football League Championship.
 PES 2008
With a relatively weak squad statistic wise, many say Reading prove a challenge to even the most astute gamer whilst playing on Professional or Top Player difficulty. Among their squad, they do however feature some players playing for licensed national teams. Stephen Hunt and Shane Long (from the Republic of Ireland), Marek Matejovsky (from the Czech Republic), Emerse Fae (from the Ivory Coast) and Graeme Murty (from the Scotland). Along with these, striker Leroy Lita, is seen as somewhat of a dark horse. Possessing a rather decent development curve, to go with fast pace and an accurate shot, Lita is seen by many as a player who plays better than his stats suggest.
