Five Star RankingImage:Rankingstar.png Image:Rankingstar.png

The Ireland football team is a useful one in the world of PES. They peaked when Roy Keane bossed the midfield for them around the time of PES2 / PES3. They have been licensed in PES2008 with a home kit of green shirts, white shorts and green socks despite not qualifying for World Cup 2006 and Euro 2008. It is uncertain whether or not the Irish squad will appear in any later versions of the PES series due to them failing to qualify for World Cup 2010.

Players

The main strength of the team is fantastic goalkeeper Shay Given of Manchester City, defenders John O'Shea and Richard Dunne, midfielders Damien Duff and Aiden McGeady and forward Robbie Keane from Tottenham. Duff especially is dangerous due to having overrated stats compared to his real life counterpart. The centre of midfield is probably Ireland's weakest area.
