 PES Series
 PES 5
He is the best Centre Back in the game with some amazing ratings like 97 in Defence, 91 in Body Balance, 82 in Top Speed and 93 in Response.
 PES 6
He lost 2 points both in Defence and Body Balance (from 97 to 95 and from 91 to 89) as well as 1 point in Response. Anyway his height is now wrongly reported as 198 cm. instead of his real height of 191 cm. making him almost unbeatable in the air.
 PES 2009
Despite his stats were dropped all around, Rio is still considered one of the best centre backs in the game due to his height, strength and speed. Also if brought up for set pieces he will score a fair share of goals. His height was corrected to 191 cm.
 PES 2010
Despite his growing age, he's still one of the best Centre Backs in the world, he's tough to beat in the air, strong and also has a decent amount of pace. Also his stats won't deteriorate that quickly in Master League and therefore he'd be a good player for a few seasons to come.
He has a Defence of 95; one of the highest in the whole game, therefore his positioning and his whole defensive presence will easily benefit your team. His overall is 92, which is also one of the best in the whole game, so he's a luxury to have in your team.
Despite Nemanja Vidic having under rated stats, the defensive pairing is easily one of the best in the game, and this is one of the reasons as to why Man United are highly picked due to the ability to keep clean sheets.
He does however lack decent form and has a C injury proneness therefore he will regularly have a negative arrow or an injury.
 PES 2011
His Defence rating has been dropped (from 94 to 88) following some poor performances both with Manchester and with the national team.
 PES 2012
His Defence rating was raised to 90.
 PES 2013
His Defence dropped by 1 to 89 and his Body Balance is at 87.
Comparing to previous PES games he is a worse central defender as he lacks pace and is quite unresponsive so he can do some very common errors while defending.
On the positive note he is still strong so he's able to shrug off attackers and is still very tall so he's good at heading balls away.
Comparing to Vidic, he isn't so good but their partnership at the back can still be one of the best if Ferdinand plays at his very best.
