South Africa have been on the game since PES4. Even though them not qualifying for the 2006 World Cup they still appeared on PES6. On previous games South Africa was one of most promising African teams on the game due to them slipping down the FIFA ranks they have a been left with a quite basic squad. Key players include Blackburn's Aaron Mokoena & Benni McCarthy & Everton's Steven Pienaar. They do offer some young promising players for the future. They wear a yellow & and green home kit and a white and yellow away kit. They are likely to be in future PES games because of their hosting of the World Cup in 2010. They are often known by their nickname Bafana Bafana.
