| Five Star Ranking | |
The Swedes are classed as being a good all round team in the world of PES due to having a strong backbone to their team. They seemed to be at their best in PES6 when they were good enough to challenge the so called bigger nations such as Brazil and England, however the loss of Henrik Larsson due to retirement and the omission of Zlatan Ibrahimovic meant there forward line was severly weakened in PES08. They have been licensed since PES6 with a home kit of yellow shirts, blue shorts and yellow socks and an away strip of blue shirts, white shorts and blue socks. In PES 2009 Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Henrik Larsson were welcomed back to the team making for a strong front line.
Tactics & Players
Sweden are built around a strong backbone, with Olof Mellberg in defence, skillful midfielders of Fredrik Ljungberg, Kim Kallstrom and Christian Wilhelmsson and strikers Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Henrik Larsson. They are very effective in a 4-4-2 formation allowing the skillful side midfielders to provide the supply for the 2 forwards.
