Thailand (pronounced TIE-land) are a poor Asian side who made their debut in PES 2009 much to people's surprise. They have 3 players formerly on the books of Man City: Suree Sukha, Teerasil Dangda and Kiatprawut Saiwaeo. Other notable players are Belgium-based Teeratep Winothai and the two-Singapore based players Therdsak Chaiman and Sutee Suksomkit. They are arguably the weakest national team in PES and they also have the lowest FIFA ranking. In terms of team quality, they are a really poor side, being not able to qualify for the 2011 AFC Asian Cup. There were some controversies as to why India, having qualified for the AFC Asian Cup 2011, could not replaced by them in PES 2012. They also failed to gain the regional title in 2012 as they lost to Singapore in the final of 2012 AFF Suzuki Cup, despite getting to the final of that tournament by defeating Malaysia by 3-1 on aggregate in the semifinals. They also lost the first game of 2015 AFC Asian Cup qualification against Kuwait by 1-3 at Rajamangala Stadium of Bangkok on 6th February, 2013. They also lost their second game of qualification against Lebanon by 5-2 on 22nd March, 2013. They got 1 direct and 1 play-off spot for 2013 AFC Champions League. Their nickname is Changsuek (The War Elephants).
