Vincent Kompany is a centre back from Belgium. He currently plays for Manchester City. In real life he is considered by many to be "one of Europe's premier hopes" and these hopes are reflected in his playing stats in game. Kompany has been included in the PES Series since PES4 and in each installment, he has been referred to by many as the best developing centre back in the game.

Once Kompany's true potential is realised, he is a very strong defender, with decent pace and a powerful header and for many PES users has proved a very capable and reliable captain and also plays well along with Micah Richards and Richard Dunne. His heading ability means he can score many goals from crosses and corners which often places him higher up the scoring charts than some strikers and midfielders.

Curiously enough, Kompany's compatriot, Anthony Vanden Borre, is also regarded as one of the best developing defenders in the game and many have made the decision to pair the two of them together in their Master League teams.
